Kyoto Chinese Cuisine Standout: Cantonese Cuisine Hosen
After that, I headed back to Kyoto Station, enjoyed some shopping at Isetan and Takashimaya, and then made my way to dinner.
By this point, it probably feels like this trip report is all about eating, and honestly, that impression is pretty much correct.
For dinner, I went to Cantonese Cuisine Hosen, a well-known name in Kyoto Chinese cuisine.
I hadn’t made a reservation, but because I lined up for opening time, I was able to get in with the first round of diners.
The food had the gentle, refined flavor typical of Kyoto Chinese cuisine, and I was very satisfied. Since I’d had lunch quite late, I couldn’t order that many dishes, but the lo mein (ebi-kashiwa soba) was especially delicious.
