Let's Visit Arashiyama!
Riding a Cute Train
On my trip around Kyoto, I decided to visit Arashiyama, a place I hadn't been to before.
I transferred between Randen trams decked out in Oyatsu Company wrap as I headed toward Arashiyama.
Arriving in Arashiyama
When I arrived at Arashiyama Station, I saw many visitors. Part of the station has been developed into a spot called the "Kimono Forest," and many people were taking photos there.
Even inside the station restrooms, I could hear various languages; it had an international atmosphere.

The Katsura River and Togetsukyo Bridge
Stepping out of the station, I found a bustling shopping street with many visitors; even the vendors' calls were in different languages. Staff served customers in multiple languages.
In places like this, staff often serve customers in multiple languages. It shows that when there's demand or motivation, people can learn and use other languages effectively.
Walking past the shopping street, I soon came upon the famous Togetsukyo Bridge.
The sky was overcast, so the colors were somewhat muted, but that actually gave the scene a look reminiscent of a Japanese painting.
I crossed the bridge and took in its view from the opposite side as well.
The Popular Culture of Eating on the Go
Lately many tourist spots seem to actively promote food-foraging culture, and Arashiyama is no exception.
While exploring, I came across a Marubranche shop. When I stopped by, they were selling a treat called the "Osanpo Ice Éclair Chacha-bō."
It's a dessert where crisp éclair pastry is topped with matcha-flavored soft serve.
It's quite substantial, and it can get messy around the mouth while eating, but that's part of the fun of eating on the go. The matcha flavor was pronounced and it was very tasty.
