The Kyoto craft gin pioneer: Kinobi’s official store
My final destination was Kinobi House, the flagship store of Kinobi, the brand that helped spark Kyoto’s current craft gin boom.

I took a taxi there from Kennin-ji and found a stylish exterior created by renovating an old building.
They sold so many kinds of Kinobi I’d never seen before, but I couldn’t tell the differences well enough to choose!

You can pick three labels that catch your eye and do a tasting. (1500 yen)
Of course, they can also make cocktails using Kinobi.
I added tonic water to the tasting, made my own gin and tonic, and had fun deciding which bottle of Kinobi to buy and take home.
I got a little tipsy, but it was such a fun experience…!
