Warming up with curry at Matsumoto Meeyau

The first place I head after arriving at Matsumoto Station is Matsumoto Meeyau Shindai-mae Branch. It’s a branch shop of Meeyau in Shinanomachi, Tokyo.

Meeyau is a curry restaurant serving ethnic-style curries based on Thai, Indian, and Sri Lankan flavors.

They have no fewer than seven kinds of curry.

  • 🇮🇳 Indian-style Yellow Curry (Spice level 5)
  • 🇮🇳 Indian-style Black Curry (Spice level 3)
  • 🇹🇭 Thai-style Red Curry (Spice level 3)
  • 🇮🇳 Indian-style Seafood Curry (Spice level 3)
  • 🇱🇰 Sri Lankan-style Beef Curry (Spice level 3)
  • 🇹🇭 Thai-style Green Curry (Spice level 2)
  • 🇯🇵 Japanese-style Brown Curry (Spice level 1)

They also have two dry curry options.

  • 🇹🇭 Thai-style Dry Curry (Spice level 2)
  • 🐖 Stir-fried Pork with Chili Peppers (Spice level 2)

If you want to eat a lot, there’s also a four-curry combo. I wasn’t confident I could finish that much, so I went with the set of 🐖 Stir-fried Pork with Chili Peppers and 🇮🇳 Indian-style Black Curry.

It was spicy and absolutely delicious! Both the curry and the stir-fried pork were excellent.

One note: the 🇮🇳 Indian-style Yellow Curry is really, really hot, so be careful (lol).
