A Quick Drink in Hakata Before Heading Home!
Good-Value Chinese Food at Gyozaya Nino Nino Watanabe-dori Branch
After returning the car, I stopped in Hakata for a quick drink before heading home.
I went to Gyozaya Nino Nino, a Chinese restaurant chain that started in Kumamoto. What stood out was its stylish, modern exterior—so chic it hardly looked like a Chinese restaurant at all, more like something that would be featured in Casa BRUTUS, the Japanese lifestyle and design magazine known for showcasing sophisticated architecture, interiors, and urban spaces.

Since it was happy hour, a medium draft beer was just 350 yen, and gyoza were an incredible 180 yen per plate.
The first thing I ordered was mouthwatering chicken. It came topped with plenty of cilantro, which made me very happy.

Next, I got some vegetables in with smashed cucumber, and the garlic chive omelet arrived in no time.

And the pan-fried gyoza were amazingly cheap too—just 250 yen for 7 even at the regular price. (The photo shows 2 plates.)

I also had preserved egg and jellyfish salad, two things I can never resist ordering. The jellyfish was notably thick and substantial in texture.

The shrimp with mayo also came with plenty of cilantro, and the combination was excellent.

And since I was there, I went ahead and ordered boiled dumplings too.

They also have a soup-style version of the boiled dumplings.

Everything comes out so quickly that I kept ordering more and more, which I ended up regretting… To finish, I had zha cai dressed with raw scallions and a vegetable-packed fried rice vermicelli, and that was the end of the meal.

Once I was completely full, I headed to the airport. And with that, my Fukuoka and Saga trip came to an end.
