For various reasons, I’m staying at MiraCosta!
Heading back to the room in the middle of a park day
I came to DisneySea to experience Fantasy Springs for the first time, and I went all out and booked a stay at MiraCosta too.
If you check in online ahead of time, there’s no need to stop at the hotel front desk, and you can even use your smartphone app as your room key, so it’s a completely digital experience where you can just head straight to your room.
That said, I wanted to pick up my luggage, so I waited in the lobby for a little while. (I only found out later that they’ll bring it up to your room for you!!! I mean, I thought that was the standard service… lol)

The ceiling murals and everything else really make it feel like they spared no expense, right down to the smallest details. That’s MiraCosta for you…

I also love the elevator floor indicator. I think it’s probably only designed like this on the lobby level, though.

That’s a hippocampus, the half-horse, half-fish creature from Greek mythology.
The room: Venice Side Superior Room, Palazzo Canal View
The room I’m staying in tonight is the “Venice Side Superior Room, Palazzo Canal View.” What a ridiculously long name!
MiraCosta’s room categories are so incredibly subdivided that I honestly had no idea what was what, so I didn’t have any strong preference—I just booked the one I happened to be able to get.
It’s a twin room, with decor that gives off a vaguely European feel—or at least what I imagine that to be.

You can see part of the Sea from the room, though the window is quite small. Well, I guess they can’t exactly make the whole hotel glass-walled… lol

There’s Mickey in the painting above the sofa!

The bathroom is separate, with the toilet and bath facing each other across the sink area.

This kind with the tank set low underneath feels a bit dated. I’ve seen it at The Westin Tokyo too, and since that hotel opened in 1994 and had a major renovation in 2023, maybe MiraCosta—being five years younger—will redo its bathrooms in a few more years too…?

The separate bath was spacious too. The marble walls really gave it that proper hotel feel, which I liked.

That said, the hair dryer was pretty underwhelming (lol).
The dream continues here
Even after sleeping and waking up, it’s still DisneySea
I was surprisingly still full of energy and kind of wanted to go out for a drink, but there wasn’t really anywhere I wanted to go, so I just had a canned beer in the room and went to bed. Good night~

And then morning!! I got to enjoy the view of DisneySea while it was still empty. I wasn’t going into the park today, though.

Breakfast at Oceano
Breakfast was at Oceano. I wanted to eat at Bellavista Lounge, but I couldn’t get a reservation…

Maybe it’s Venetian glass? The glasswork set into the interior was genuinely amazing. MiraCosta was really going all in here…

These light fixtures were incredible too. Creepy-cute!!

We ate in a pearl-themed dining room. This room was pretty impressive too…

Here’s my standard buffet observation shot. I’d be happier if there were more breads that weren’t sweet. (Just my personal opinion.)

They said there would be bread pudding, so I imagined the warm kind you scoop out with a big spoon—which I love—but instead it turned out to be this cute little one… lol

Overall… well… yeah. If there’s a next time, I definitely want to have breakfast at Bellavista instead.
Day two’s highlight: Terme Venezia
The walk to the spa
After eating, I took a short break and then headed to MiraCosta’s pool and bath facility, “Terme Venezia.” Terme means “hot spring” in Italian ♨️, but there isn’t actually a hot spring here.
There was a bench along the way that made me wonder if they’d sourced it from somewhere special…

The Terme Venezia emblem centers on the half-horse, half-fish hippocampus. The black and gold give it such a luxurious feel…!

The approach to the reception desk had the kind of beauty that felt like stepping into a story.

From the window, you can look out over a Venetian streetscape.

The ceiling is glass, with white fabric diffusing the bright natural light. So luxurious…

Beyond this point, it’s separated by gender. Off to the room with the extra-testosterone guys.

From the lockers, there’s direct access to both the bath area and the pool. The bath area has a jacuzzi bath, shower booths, and even a mist sauna!
Enjoying both the indoor and outdoor pools
Before heading to the baths, I started with the pool. The indoor pool is a gorgeous design made up of four connected circles. It’s fairly deep too—1.2 meters.

The outdoor area has two pools: a rectangular one and a shallow semicircular one. The shallow pool is for kids, and even the rectangular pool gets quite shallow on one side.

At the back, there are sculptures of Mickey and friends.

Wait… Pluto…??? lol

I made sure to do some butterfly strokes before too many people showed up,
With a cold drink in hand
There are lots of chairs around the pool, and you can order drinks from the bar. There’s that half-fish, half-horse hippocampus here too. The bar is called Hippocampi.

I enjoyed some refreshing drinks~ (the one on the right is alcohol)

They also had spaghetti and shaved ice.
A big bath and a piping-hot mist sauna
After the pool, it was bath time! The dimly lit bath was deep, tiled, and full of atmosphere. It felt like the kind of bath you don’t see much in Japan.
And then the mist sauna. This one was seriously high in both temperature and humidity!!! It got so hot that I could barely even walk upright in it—it was a genuinely intense sauna.
There wasn’t a cold plunge bath, so I rinsed off the sweat in the shower, put my swimsuit back on, and went back to the pool lol.
Check-out
It was incredibly luxurious, but also relaxing
After enjoying the pool, bath, and sauna, I checked out at 12:00. It would be even better if the bath facilities were included for both night and morning with one night’s stay, but they charge by the day. Still, I got more than enough out of just the morning, so I was satisfied.
Even the gate on the MiraCosta side looks like they spent a serious amount of money on it. Amazing.

With the Tuscan streetscape seeing me off, I headed for the Resort Line.
