Breakfast at a Neighborhood Café

Kissa Shotiku

My plan didn’t include breakfast, so I headed to a kissaten for the morning meal. Osaka is great for its abundance of coffee shops and cafés. Or rather, it feels like Tokyo has fewer old-school kissaten like this.

I stopped by Kissa Shotiku, a two-story shop known for its beautiful stained glass.

A cup of black coffee to wake me up,

and then I had pizza toast, a Japanese café classic: thick toast topped with tomato sauce, cheese, and pizza-style toppings.

Pizza toast really is the best, isn’t it? Love it.
