Walking Around Akashi Castle
I take the train from Sannomiya to visit Akashi Castle. You can even see it from the platform.
At Akashi Castle, I successfully got the stamp for Japan’s Top 100 Castles. The Hitsujisaru Yagura and Tatsumi Yagura still remain atop the impressive stone walls.
It seems there were once turrets at all four corners, but only two remain today.
There is a base for the main keep, but apparently the keep itself was never built. The castle grounds felt spacious, with plenty of room to wander around freely.
