Staying Overnight on Miyajima!
Miyajima Hotel Makoto
For our Hiroshima trip, we stayed at a hotel on Miyajima called Miyajima Hotel Makoto.

From the reviews, it seems to be a place that is often used for elementary and junior high school trips.
The lobby had a Japanese-style design, with an impressive open atrium space.

A Spacious Japanese-Style Room with a Sea View
Our room was a Japanese-style room. It was fairly spacious, and we were able to relax comfortably. Some parts did show their age a bit, but I still think it was comfortable enough overall.

The tatami mats in particular showed some wear, so I think it would have been even more comfortable if at least those were replaced.
The toilet had a relatively new warm-water bidet seat.

We could see the sea from the room.

There was also a small park right in front of the hotel, and it seemed to serve as a sleeping spot for the deer.
Dinner in a Large Banquet Hall
We had dinner in a large banquet hall.

The meal included oyster dishes, a Hiroshima specialty. I believe they had been thoroughly cooked beforehand, and then were served in a style where we heated them before eating.
That made it easy for even someone like me, who worries about norovirus, to eat the oysters with peace of mind.
The Last Day of the Trip
The Deer Were Energetic from the Morning
When we came back from the shrine, the deer were actively moving around in the park in front of the hotel.

It was almost as if the deer had taken over the park, so I doubt children get to play there very often. There was also a lot of droppings, so I had to watch my step a little while walking.
We had breakfast in the same venue as dinner the night before. Rice and miso soup were self-service.
