Arriving at Hiroshima Station
Off to eat okonomiyaki
For lunch, I went for okonomiyaki. Since it was a three-day weekend, I looked for a place that would take reservations and ended up at Hiroshima Okonomi Monogatari Ekimae Hiroba, inside a slightly sketchy-looking building near the station.

Apparently this building originally housed a Daiei. All the surrounding buildings are shiny and new, so this place alone has a noticeably different atmosphere.
The restaurant I booked was called Sozo. I’d had Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki before, but having it cooked right in front of me at the teppan counter was, as expected, a lot of fun. The speed and precision were impressive too.

It was generously portioned, and I was very satisfied with lunch.
